Dr. Kim Tong DVM, DACVS

Dr. Kim Tong graduated veterinary school at the University of California, Davis in 2011. He has completed advanced training in both a rotating internship at Michigan State University (2012) and surgical internship at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (2013). He then finished his surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. His interests include minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy, arthroscopy, minimally invasive osteosynthesis) and advanced orthopedics such as total hip replacement. His previous research has encompassed various topics including orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology/endoscopy, rare congenital anomalies, and bench top testing of implants.

Dr. Tong is a native of San Francisco, having grown up in the Sunset District, and is excited to be back home. He enjoys volleyball, snowboarding, traveling, and exploring all the food San Francisco has to offer. At home, he and his wife have two dogs, a Shih Tzu (Miss Daisy) and a Beagle (Jackson). Other times you may find Kim cheering on his favorite Bay Area teams, the Warriors and the 49ers.
